Wired Magazine
An illustration piece for Wired Magazine's 'Future of Money' edition. The brief asked for a design for a futuristic banknote incorporating logos from some present-day companies and startups.
The piece was used in Wired US, Wired UK and Wired Italy, and in GQ Mexico and GQ South Africa. I used Illustrator, Excentro, Google Sketchup and Vectoraster with some pre-print touchups done in Photoshop. It was also featured in the videos previewing the iPad edition of Wired Magazine.
I created lettering based on modern and historical US banknotes.
The full note design as delivered. The ring of cubes was done in Sketchup and edited in Illustrator to add colours and line thicknesses.
The key editorial text was localised for the Italian edition.
