Estates Gazette
A tool to give access to a vast database of property details going back (in some cases) 150 years.
I provided a considerable amount of IA and user-experience consulting on this project before starting the visual design. Due to the amount of data, the search process was designed to handle potentially enormous numbers of results without overwhelming the user. The project is still in development so some features and details shown here may change.

The intention of the visual design is to be on-brand but colourful and informal to encourage experimentation and play.

The search function helps the user focus on a particular area — with a combination of auto-complete and live updating of the map and potential results in the search button the user can experiment with search terms and get a reasonable idea of the potential number of results. This was one of the key use cases in fact.

One solution for showing many search results.

The final goal (and the primary use case) is to download reports on specific properties. The tool allows the user to select and download multiple reports.
